ABOUT US

BLUE LION MUAY THAI

WHAT WE ARE
Blue Lion is a Muay Thai gym built on real technique, real standards, and real progression—welcoming beginners through fighters under one unified culture.

WHO WE ARE
Blue Lion is led by Ash Randhawa and Brandon Murio, bringing international Muay Thai experience and a shared vision for what a gym should be: real coaching, real standards, and real respect. We’re building a home for beginners through fighters—and aiming to define the standard of Muay Thai in California.

THE STANDARD
We teach real Muay Thai proven in competition - because what works there, holds up under pressure. That’s how we build fundamentals that scale: for confidence, self-defense, and competition.

BEGINNER PROMISE
No matter your level, we coach you to get good at real Muay Thai - safely and step by step. We start with fundamentals, control, and safe training standards. We don’t rush you, but we teach the real thing from day one, so your confidence is earned.

COMPETITOR PROMISE
If you choose the competition path, we coach you with honesty, structure, and high standards. You’ll learn Muay Thai that scores and wins, built on fundamentals, conditioning, ring IQ, and discipline. We’ll pursue the right opportunities and support you as a team, without controlling your career. You earn your place through consistency, coachability, and respect.

FAQs

TRANSITION + REMODEL

  • VALOR Fight Sports is transitioning into Blue Lion Muay Thai. This includes a full remodel and relaunch with a new facility layout, new equipment, and a 20’ ring, plus updated systems, classes, and culture.

  • February 1 is the official business transition date — that’s when membership billing begins processing into the Blue Lion Muay Thai company bank account.

  • The last day for instruction in March will be Thursday, March 12th. On Friday, March 13th we will begin our full remodel. Estimated time to complete the remodel is 3-4 weeks.

  • We will not add extra cost because of the closure. Instead, every member’s membership will be extended by the number of days we are closed, so no one loses training time.
Example: If your membership end date is January 1, 2027, and we are closed for 3 weeks, your new end date becomes January 22, 2027 — but your final payment date remains January 1, 2027.

  • We expect the bulk of the remodel to be completed before the end of April 2026. A Grand Opening Celebration will be announced once we have a firm date.

MEMBERSHIPS, BILLING + AGREEMENTS

  • Yes. All prepaid memberships will be honored and will keep the same end date, unless a pause is requested.

  • If you pause your membership (or plan to pause), how that affects your end date is TBD and will be outlined in the updated membership policy.

  • No immediate price changes for existing members are planned until after the remodel. If you are on an active membership, you may not see any price changes for up to 6 months.

  • Yes. Billing will process under the new Blue Lion business beginning February 1 (into the Blue Lion company bank account).

  • Yes. You will be receiving a new Blue Lion gym agreement that outlines our code of conduct and locks in your price commitment.

COACHES, SCHEDULE + STAYING UPDATED

  • There will be changes to coaches and staff, and we plan to bring in new assets as Blue Lion grows.

  • Yes — the schedule will change slightly beginning March 2nd. There will be additional classes that will be added after the remodel.

  • The website is the main hub for all gym information, including class schedule and signups. Visit bluelionmuaythai.com/schedule for the latest updates.

MERCH + BRAND IDENTITY

  • Yes — for now.

  • Once a new Blue Lion replacement item is available, the comparable VALOR item will be phased out. Until then (and for a TBD period after), members may wear any appropriate workout clothing.

The “Member1” T-shirts and Hoodies will arrive in March. Pre-order to reserve your size now by visiting the office.

  • The primary colors for Blue Lion Muay Thai will be black, teal, and gold.

  • Yes — we’re building a VALOR trade-in value program.

    • $5 off for a 1-to-1 trade. For instance: you can trade in 1 VALOR t-shirt to get $5 off on 1 BLUE LION t-shirt - 1 VALOR hoodie to get $5 off on 1 BLUE LION hoodie.

  • Yes. Members will always receive discounts on Blue Lion merchandise.

FILMING + SOCIAL MEDIA

  • We ask that there is no filming and posting allowed until the remodel is complete (estimated end of March 2026).

  • Once we reopen, we encourage people to film and post. However, there may be rules about filming members directly, especially competing athletes. We will post a clear filming policy at reopening.

RELATIONSHIP TO VALOR + COMPETITION POLICY

  • Blue Lion Muay Thai is independent from VALOR and will operate as its own gym and brand.
That said, we remain respectful to our friends at VALOR, and our athletes and members may still have access to opportunities connected to the broader Muay Thai community — including events and pathways offered through Kru Pat, MDL, MTAAC, and the WBC.

  • We will be continuing to align with the WBC. Because of this relationship, there are certain events we will be involved in and some events we will choose not to participate in — overall, the Head Fight Team Coach will have final say on what events those are.

That said, we will also be aligning our gym with the other Muay Thai sanctioning bodies in the USA to ensure our athletes have strong opportunities and a clear pathway at multiple levels of competition. We are currently lining up fights for our fight team roster — more info to follow.

  • Because we are a brand new gym with a brand new culture, the Fight Team will be reconstructed to fit our new standards. There will be a mandatory meeting to go over Fight Team details. If you are interested and have not yet been invited, reach out to Coach Brandon.

  • Only if you are a standard paying member. Any Blue Lion Fight Team athlete and any Blue Lion staff member will be held to a higher standard. More info will be presented at the mandatory Fight Team meeting and in your staff handbook.

GYM OPERATIONS + FACILITY STANDARDS

  • A new class schedule will be available soon. To avoid confusion, all classes will start at the same time each day (no staggered start times).

    • Tuesday: 3pm – 9pm

TRAINING PROGRAM + CULTURE

  • What We Are: Blue Lion is a Muay Thai gym built on real technique, real standards, and real progression — welcoming beginners through fighters under one unified culture.

Mission: Teach real Muay Thai with a structured pathway from first class to fight camp, inside a culture that feels like home: One Team, One Family.

Vision: To become the most respected Muay Thai gym in the region — known for coaching, culture, and champions.

The North Star: Everything we teach must work in judged competition — no matter the opponent’s style. This protects our product and ensures every student learns fundamentals that scale.

Culture Statement: One Team, One Family. We build a gym culture where people feel supported, respected, and pushed to grow — together.

  • Both — under one standard: real Muay Thai.
Our primary goal is to deliver high-level Muay Thai inside a culture people are proud to belong to: One Team, One Family.

Primary Goal (Product + Culture): Deliver high-level Muay Thai with a gym culture people are proud to belong to.
Secondary Goal (Competitor Pathway): Build champions the right way — teach them properly, get them opportunities, help them become champions.
Overall Goal (Consistency): A structured system that supports beginners learning fundamentals correctly, members progressing through levels, and competitors preparing for judged fights with confidence.

  • Yes. There will be defined levels for progression with trackable standards. Students progress based on demonstrated ability (not just years in the system). We track and develop key skills from the beginning, such as:

    • Fight IQ

    • Aggression (applied appropriately)

    • Control

    • Intent

  • We teach competition-proven Muay Thai — because it builds fundamentals that scale. We teach Muay Thai the way it wins in judged competition, which creates a strong foundation for beginners and a real pathway for fighters.

Beginner Promise: We coach you to get good at real Muay Thai — safely and step-by-step. We start with fundamentals, control, and safe training standards. We don’t rush you, but you will learn the real thing from day one, so your confidence is earned and your progression is real.

Competitor Promise: If you choose the competition path, we coach you with honesty, structure, and high standards. You’ll be taught real Muay Thai that scores and wins, built on fundamentals, conditioning, ring IQ, and discipline. We will pursue the right opportunities, prepare you the right way, and support you as a team, without controlling your career. You earn your place through consistency, coachability, and respect

  • We are currently accepting applications to add staff to our new gym. The new staff will be seasoned, experienced, and mature. Staff bios will be added to the website once we finalize our new team.

  • Our sparring culture is built on control, respect, and development — not ego.

    • No ego sparring, retaliation, or “teaching lessons” with power

    • Coaches manage intensity and matchups

    • Safety and control standards apply to everyone

If intensity, control, or behavior breaks standards:

    • Step 1 — Reset (Immediate)

    • Step 2 — Warning

    • Step 3 — Sit-Out

    • Step 4 — Removal / Review

  • One art, clear pathways. Blue Lion is one gym with one standard: real Muay Thai. Within that, we provide clear pathways so people train with the right expectations.

Pathway 1: Foundations (Beginner → Intermediate)

    • Fundamentals-first Muay Thai

    • Safety and control standards

    • Clear progression checkpoints

    • Optional controlled sparring formats

    Pathway 2: Advanced Training

    • Higher pace and expectations

    • More situational rounds

    • Conditioning aligned to Muay Thai demands

    • Technical sharpening and ring IQ

Pathway 3: Competition / Fight Team

    • Criteria-based entry or coach approval

    • Fight camps + performance standards

    • Sparring intensity managed by coaches

    • Travel readiness + cornering structure

    • Fight opportunities and long-term development

Key principle: Fight team training has dedicated blocks and expectations, but the entire gym is still taught real Muay Thai fundamentals. There will be periodical testing to properly advance a student through the progression.
